Athens, May 15 (Prensa Latina) The European Commission called for stepping up cooperation in doping controls at closing session of a European conference held in Athens conference under the auspices of the European Parliament.
Participants noted that doping has gone beyond the boundaries of sports to become a social problem.

‘The doping control must be started at the youngest age’, said World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Director General, David Howman.

He also advocated for creating programs for children education that reveal the essence of sport.

According to WADA, certified labs in Europe account for 40 percent of such centers in the world, running 40 percent of the tests worldwide.

The three-day conference gathered government experts, scientists and European athletes, plus anti-doping and lab officials.
