Joyce Wheeler

The late Joyce Wheeler was a retired school teacher who taught at Baltimore City Public Schools. She was lauded as an exemplary elementary classroom teacher for 27 years; a staunch Baltimore Teachers Union building rep who walked the picket lines; a toiler to raise science literacy as Baltimore’s only elementary science specialist for 11 years; an advocate of quality public education and against privatization; and an activist engaging in the movement for world peace and equality.
