The World Social Forum in Nairobi concluded Jan. 25 with the approval of a motion in support of the world campaign for the release of the five Cuban anti-terrorist fighters held in U.S. prisons.

Antonio Guerrero, Fernando González, Gerardo Hernández, Ramon Labañino and René González are known as the Cuban Five worldwide. They are serving extremely long and unfair sentences in U.S. jails for having collected information on Florida-based ultra-right organizations that have undertaken terrorist and violent actions against Cuba over the past 45 years.

Two Cuban delegates, Lourdes Cervantes and Jose Miguel Hernandez, presented the proposal at the forum, which was endorsed as part of 21 issues considered by the event.
