Sherwood Ross

A civil rights activist, Ross was News Director for the National Urban League, a talk show host at WOL Radio, Washington, D.C., and holds an award for “best spot news coverage” for Chicago radio stations for civil rights reporting.  He handled publicity for civil rights leader James Meredith's 1966 "March Against Fear" and tended to the civil rights leader's wounds after he was shot. Ross died June 21, 2018, at the age of 85.
