Gerardo Hernández, Fernando González, René González, Antonio Guerrero and Ramon Labañino have been unjustly imprisoned for eight long years.
While the legal battle for their freedom continues, it’s important to step up political pressure for their release. You can help by writing letters to your local newspaper, by writing or phoning your congresspeople or by mobilizing your union, church or peace group.
Talking points include the following: • Washington has long tolerated and supported anti-Cuba terrorism, and over 3,000 Cubans have been killed by such acts • Miami has been a center for plotting such attacks • The Five were monitoring private, right-wing groups, not U.S. installations • The Miami jury was biased by anti-Cuba prejudice • The Five face long sentences, have spent many months in solitary confinement and several have been denied family visits.
