The Communist Party USA has sent a four-person delegation to visit the People’s Republic of China. On invitation from the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, CPUSA National Chairman Sam Webb, International Secretary Marilyn Bechtel, Labor Commission Chairman Scott Marshall and African American Equality Commission Chairwoman Debbie Bell are touring four cities, including Beijing and Shanghai. The delegation will be meeting with Chinese Communist Party leaders, trade unionists and officials from the Institute for Social Sciences.

Before leaving, Bechtel said, “Contrary to the recent visit by George Bush to China and other Asian countries, this delegation is seeking ways to extend our fraternal, working-class relations through common issues of peace and international solidarity.”

The delegation members will all be available for speaking engagements upon their return. For more information contact CPUSA Communications Director Judith Le Blanc at (212) 989-4994 ext. 251.
