In another nod to the radical right, George W. Bush has nominated Priscilla Owen to a lifetime seat on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Owen has repeatedly attacked reproductive freedom, workers’ rights and consumers’ rights in her seven years on the Texas Supreme Court. If confirmed to the Fifth Circuit, Owen’s extreme views would threaten the rights and liberties of millions more Americans in Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi.
