Bus riders gathered on a busy street in Los Angeles, California, recently as part of a national day of action to stop bus service cuts and fare increases. They are asking President Obama, U.S. Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., and Congress to stop the proposed 37 percent cuts in public transportation, which is being recommended by the New Federal Surface Transportation Act.
