Wherever workers are in struggle, that’s where you’ll find People’s World

As labor writers for People’s World, we have a simple rule: go where the workers are.

Whether it’s a picket line in the freezing dawn, a bustling union convention hall, or a tense organizing campaign, that’s where you’ll find us. And that’s where you’ll find People’s World.

While corporate media reports from executive suites and stock exchanges, we are there, on the ground, telling the story from the perspective of the working class—not the billionaires.

The need for this frontline reporting has never been more urgent. The Trump administration is using all the means at its disposal to attack our working class. They have canceled collective bargaining rights for 1.3 million federal workers, deployed troops against working class communities, and attacked student workers and trade union leaders. In the face of these attacks, our movement needs a voice that is unapologetically ours.

That’s why your support is so critical. Our coverage of the struggles that define this moment is made possible only by your donations. Just look at what we’ve documented together recently:

In healthcare, we brought you the story of 32,000 home healthcare workers organizing a union in Michigan, the 46,000 workers who struck Kaiser Permanente, and the 10,000 nurses now organizing with the Teamsters at Corewell Health.

In auto, we were on the ground for the ICE raid against Hyundai workers in Georgia, the ongoing battle at BlueOval SK in Kentucky where the UAW is fighting to cement their historic victory, and the longstanding fight for a first contract for UAW members at Volkswagen in Tennessee.

We were there at the Coalition of Black Trade Unionists (CBTU) convention again this year, amplifying their call to oppose attacks on federal workers and stand with the workers of South Africa, Palestine, and Cuba. Now they are calling for a national union day of solidarity to build working class unity against the billionaire attacks.

This is the record of a publication that is, and always will be, partisan—we take the workers’ side. And the fights are far from over. With a national Starbucks Workers United strike authorization vote looming this holiday season, you can bet I’ll be there, walking the picket lines and telling their story.

But to keep doing this, we need your help. People’s World provides daily reporting on the top issues facing our country’s working class at this crucial moment. We don’t have corporate advertisers to please; we answer to you, the readers and donors who make our work possible.

Please, contribute to our Fall Fund Drive today. Help us ensure that when workers rise up, their story is told.
