Victor Perlo

Victor Perlo (1912-1999), was an American Marxist economist, government functionary, and a longtime member of the National Committee of the Communist Party USA. Perlo was a prolific writer: besides his 13 published books, translated into a dozen languages, he wrote some 3,000 newspaper and magazine articles. Perlo's book Economics of Racism II: The Roots of Inequality, USA won the 1997 Gustavus Myers Center for Human Rights Outstanding Book Award. People vs. Profits, Volume II: The United States and the World, a collection of columns by Perlo, won a Notable Mention in the reference category of the 2007 Eric Hoffer Awards for short prose and independent books.
