“Conservative values” Texas judge beats daughter

ROCKPORT, Texas – Shocking video surfaced recently showing Republican Aransas County Judge William “Bill” Adams battering his physically disabled 16-year-old daughter Hillary Adams. According to Hillary’s YouTube page, she has suffered from cerebral palsy since birth. The 2004 incident followed Hillary’s usage of the Internet to download video games without her father’s permission.

In the video, Adams can be seen ordering his wife to remove a toddler from the room before turning off the lights and beating Hillary over 10 times across her legs and back with a belt while the daughter lies cradled in the fetal position crying. Judge Adams can be heard ordering his daughter to “lay down! I’ll spank you in the f***ing face!” during the beating. The judge then leaves the room, apparently to retrieve another belt before yelling “I never got mah lick in oh ‘er…I’ll beat you into submission!” and continuing the beating. The judge then continues to verbally abuse his daughter for several minutes, threatening physical abuse for future “disobedience.”

Hillary’s mother can be seen in the video acting as a less-active participant in the abuse. According to Hillary’s YouTube posting, her mother was also a victim of the judge’s domestic abuse. Hallie G. Adams divorced her husband in 2007 after 21 years of marriage.

Adams came to the bench in 1998 by defeating Democrat Robert Shellenberger with 67% of the vote. The east Texas county of Aransas has a population of around 23,000. According to the Aransas County Republican Party’s website, its mission is to “promote conservative values.” During his 1998 campaign, Adams pledged to institute youth guidance programs that would involve retirees. Calls and emails to Adams and to the chair and vice-chair of the Aransas County Republican Party were unreturned by the time of this publication.

Shawna Willing, director of the Texas State Commission on Judicial Conduct, told the People’s World that Texas law prohibits the disclosure of any information regarding potential commission investigations before the commission has rendered an opinion. Thus far, the commission has not taken any formal disciplinary action against Judge Adams.
