NEW YORK CITY: Play about Haymarket Riot
Melody Cooper has written an award-winning play titled “Day of Reckoning” about Lucy and Albert Parsons that deals with their involvement in the labor movement in Chicago and the events surrounding the Haymarket Riot. It will be produced in NYC this month at the Kraine Theater, 85 East 4th St. The dates are Sat., April 17 at 2 p.m.; April 20-23 at 8:00 p.m.; Sat., April 24, and Sun., April 25 at 2:00 p.m.
CHICAGO: Latino Film Fest
The Latino Film Festival’s mission is to present a cross-section of movies from Spain, Portugal, Latin America and the U.S., and this year (April 16-28) it is honoring admired films from festivals past while highlighting new events. There will be a timely look at Haitian cinema, a series of films celebrating Latin music and a more ambitious Made in Chicago series.

LOS ANGELES: Photos by Milton Rogovin, et al.
Works by four influential photographers – Milton Rogovin, Eugène Atget, Brett Weston and William Garnett – have recently been acquired by the J. Paul Getty Museum. Presenting a substantial number of images by each artist, this exhibition displays these remarkable new acquisitions for the first time.
