He’s choosing excess, can’t you tell? – a political parody

“Choosing Excess”
(sung to the tune of Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas”)

Just when I thought they’d wrung out all his bribery,
I wish they knew better when he said he’d tend domestic needs;
They fell right back for his salesman charm —
There wasn’t a match for the fires he’d start.

He’s a capitalist, I can tell by the way
He’s two-steppin’ for his ballroom;
His right-wing justices drag us back to ’73 —
Is there nothing we can do?
Nobody needs a crystal ball to see
A capitalist always finds a way to bleed
Off the backs of someone else —
He’s choosing excess, can’t you tell?

I guess he forgot about his sketchy bestie Epstein,
Them locker rooms, the sickest fumes you’d ever breathe;
He always loved to mistreat a woman —
They should’ve taken that as a warning.

He’s a capitalist, I can tell by the way
He’s two-steppin’ ’round the truth,
And judging by the creepy smile on his face,
He thinks there’s nothing we can do.
Nobody needs a crystal ball to see
A capitalist always finds a way to creep
Off the backs of someone else —
He’s choosing excess, can’t you tell?

When I’m eastbound and down and the prices are high,
I-40 gets costlier, see the gas station signs;
I know that his word has never been sincere —
His heart still belongs to the profits he craves.

He’s a capitalist, I can tell by the way
He’s two-steppin’ while we pay,
And judging by the fiendish grin on his face,
He thinks there’s nothing we can do.
Nobody needs a crystal ball to see
A capitalist always finds a way to drain
The pockets of someone else —
He’s choosing excess, I can tell.
Off the backs of someone else —
He’s choosing excess, can’t you tell?
