Eugene Dennis (1905-61) was a union organizer and longtime leader of the Communist Party USA. He served as the party's General Secretary during the height of the Cold War anti-communist repression. His name was associated with the Supreme Court case of Dennis v. United States, a major McCarthy era legal fight to defend free speech and the First Amendment.
